General Cleaning & Maintenance:

• We use only  Pronature & Jaxoleum furniture sealers on our products
• These are high quality, non-toxic products that enhance the beauty of wood & provide a highly durable finish
• Spillages are protected against, but should be wiped dry as soon as possible
• Wiping your furniture with a dry to slightly damp cloth will suffice for general & regular cleaning
• It is important to note that chemical based detergents should not be used as they may strip the protective coating
• Silicone based aerosol sprays & polishes should also be avoided
• Specialised wood cleaners are available from our above mentioned partners that will maintain the our furniture’s characteristic finish

 

Sunlight & Airflow:

• Furniture should not be placed in direct sunlight this this may cause uneven discolouration of wood
• Wood by nature ‘breathes’ (expands & contracts) – some minor cracks may show up sometimes as a result of this.
• Big variations in temperature & humidity may exacerbate the above mentioned movement
• Furniture should not be placed in the direct path of air conditioning, & should be placed slightly away from walls to allow for airflow.
• Do not keep wrapped in an airtight materiel (eg plastic) for lengthy periods as this will restrict woods natural breathing process.

 

Moving Furniture:

• Solid wood furniture is heavy, so should not be dragged across flooring, this may damage your furniture &/or flooring
• When being lifted & carried, they should be held near the bottom, as otherwise joinery may be compromised
• During transportation, furniture should be well protected, secure, & be kept in an upright position.
